Sex and The City

Forget Carrie Bradshaw... find out how it really began...

The Iris Project is launching an exciting new initiative for adults in central and East London this September. Weekly workshops on ancient Greek theatre will be run in community centres in Hackney and central London, introducing plays which focus around the themes of gender in ancient Greek tragedy. The sessions will be run in ten week blocks: the first five will look at the roles of powerful women in ancient theatre, and the next five weeks will look at men in ancient drama.

The sessions will last approximately two hours and will be £2 per session.

The first series of 10 fortnightly sessions will be run in the stunning Chapel at Oxford House in Bethnal Green starting Monday 15th September 6:30-8:30pm.

Oxford House can be found at Oxford House, Derbyshire Street, Bethnal Green, London E2 6HG - click HERE for details

Please book in advance through the Iris website by emailing Graham

We believe that all children are entitled to the opportunity of learning about the languages and cultures of the ancient world, and that these subjects are wonderful tools for enhancing literacy, social awareness and analytical skills. Through a range of initiatives in UK state schools, we work to enrich the curriculum by promoting learning about the ancient world.
